BS0102 Elegant Orange Professional Costume by Hanan $365

This gorgeous show stopper is a beautiful bright (but not quite neon) orange lycra, with a soft mesh "sash" across the front hips and long, full hanging "sash" end (a Hanan signature design element). Incredibly elegant. Skirt is fit to flare, has a center slit behind the hanging sash. Hanan's skirts are fabulously cut; unfortunately as of this writing I didn't take a photo holding the skirt out. There is a center gaudaut (some people mistakenly call these "gores:" a triangular insert in the lower part of the skirt that adds fullness) in the back. Extremely flattering and flares out beautifully as you move, showing off the copious beading on the lower skirt.
Beadwork is primarily outlines of orange glass seed beads, with sequin fills in iridescent flat ranges, iridescent clear greens both round and flower shaped, and standard smooth glass bugle beads. Several strands of glass rhinestone accenting hip and bra beadwork; also short strands on the coordinating soft mesh gathered band that "S's" around the bra cups. Several 3/8" real glass crystal accent stones on bra, half dozen on skirt. Just the right amount of fringe accenting around hips, long double strands of glass seed beads tipped with faceted clear acrylics and silver metallics. Skirt has back zipper.
Accessories: Matching beaded gauntlets, soft headband.
Age/Condition: New. Some small spots (like wet water spots) scattered on one gauntlet. Un-noticeable to anyone watching you dance, no matter how close.

Like most of the costumes on this site, this was a one-of-a-kind piece hand crafted by an Egyptian artisan. THIS COSTUME CAN NOT BE ORDERED. Will there be more? Individual artisans will occasionally repeat designs, but never exactly and rarely in the same color. It's impossible to say if or when these will show up or in what size or color. YOU CAN'T ORDER THIS COSTUME. Thank you.
If large version photos don't seem very large, especially the detail, which should be pretty gigantic, you may need to do this (applies to Internet Explorer (IE) only): Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the IE window. Click "Internet Options". Click the "Advanced" tab. You'll see a "Settings" list of items you can check or uncheck. Scroll down until you see the heading "Multimedia." There should be a checkbox setting something along the lines of "enable automatic image resizing." You DON'T want automatic image resizing, so uncheck the box if it's checked. CLick the "OK" button. "Automatic image resizing" takes images IE considers too big and makes them smaller, so you never are sure if you are seeing an image at the size the website author intended. Turning off "automatic image resizing" simply means you will see all images at their "real" sizes, it will not affect anything else.
A general statement about Egyptian designer Hanan:
Hanan is one of the hottest haute couture designers in Egypt NOW. Her costumes tend to be more reasonably priced than some of the other "big name" designers. The costumes I've gleaned are even MORE reasonably priced, as I've hunted around for sales and sleeper bargains from other middlemen vendors, and purchased in bulk. Hanan generally bucks the current trend (getting overdone and overcopied, and taken a bit far at times, in my opinion) of minimal decoration. Her beautiful beadwork is instantly recognizable; anybody who "knows" will know what you are wearing. She was, if not the only, then one of the originators of the now much-copied jewled-buckle straps over open hip(s) look; other signature design elements are long fabric cords hanging in wide skirt openings; beautifully constructed flaring skirts; unique fabrics; wide variety of styles from sexy and daring (lots of wide leg openings) to flirty (use of ruffles), to incredibly elegant (beautiful mesh drapes). And of course extremely high quality. Variations in prices of her costumes that you will see here and elsewhere often have to do with the beadwork - a lot of crystal, large unique glass beads = $$$$$; more sequins and standard glass beads (but still beautiful work) = less $. Other factors as well, of course. More elaborate or unique/new designs = more $$$.
