Like most of the costumes on this site, this was a one-of-a-kind piece hand crafted by an Egyptian artisan. THIS COSTUME CAN NOT BE ORDERED. Will there be more? Individual artisans will occasionally repeat designs, but never exactly and rarely in the same color. It's impossible to say if or when these will show up or in what size or color. YOU CAN'T ORDER THIS COSTUME. Thank you.
If large version photos don't seem very large, especially the detail, which should be pretty gigantic, you may need to do this (applies to Internet Explorer (IE) only): Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the IE window. Click "Internet Options". Click the "Advanced" tab. You'll see a "Settings" list of items you can check or uncheck. Scroll down until you see the heading "Multimedia." There should be a checkbox setting something along the lines of "enable automatic image resizing." You DON'T want automatic image resizing, so uncheck the box if it's checked. CLick the "OK" button. "Automatic image resizing" takes images IE considers too big and makes them smaller, so you never are sure if you are seeing an image at the size the website author intended. Turning off "automatic image resizing" simply means you will see all images at their "real" sizes, it will not affect anything else.
Made in Egypt.
A general statement about Egyptian designer Hanan: Hanan is one of the hottest haute couture designers in Egypt NOW. Her costumes tend to be more reasonably priced than some of the other "big name" designers. The costumes I've gleaned are even MORE reasonably priced, as I've hunted around for sales and sleeper bargains from other middlemen vendors, and purchased in bulk. Hanan generally bucks the current trend (getting overdone and overcopied, and taken a bit far at times, in my opinion) of minimal decoration. Her beautiful beadwork is instantly recognizable; anybody who "knows" will know what you are wearing. She was, if not the only, then one of the originators of the now much-copied jewled-buckle straps over open hip(s) look; other signature design elements are long fabric cords hanging in wide skirt openings; beautifully constructed flaring skirts; unique fabrics; wide variety of styles from sexy and daring (lots of wide leg openings) to flirty (use of ruffles), to incredibly elegant (beautiful mesh drapes). And of course extremely high quality. Variations in prices of her costumes that you will see here and elsewhere often have to do with the beadwork - a lot of crystal, large unique glass beads = $$$$$; more sequins and standard glass beads (but still beautiful work) = less $. Other factors as well, of course. More elaborate or unique/new designs = more $$$.
Additional description coming (or email me if I don't get it here fast enough for you, info(at)bellydancewithk(dot)com ) -- lovely color, a light rose stretch fabric that (to my eyes) leans very slightly toward peach. Has goldish holographic overlay, not the kind with tiny tiny very closely spaced dots, but varied sizes scattered a bit wider; real glass crystals and rhinestones; Hanan's spectacular ultra flaring skirt construction and wonderfully fitting bra. Skirt hips are lightly ruched (gathered), not too thick or bulky, very nice.
Accessories: Matching beaded gauntlets (can be used as upper arm bands, though slightly long), soft headband.
Age/Condition: New.

DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL ME WITH SIZE QUESTIONS OF ANY KIND UNTIL YOU HAVE 1) READ THE LINKED PAGE ABOVE (How to Buy A Costume that Fits), 2) READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION OF THIS COSTUME INCLUDING NOTES GIVEN WITH THE SIZES, 3) TAKEN YOUR MEASUREMENTS NOW AND CAREFULLY COMPARED THEM TO MEASUREMENTS GIVEN FOR COSTUME IN QUESTION. Please! I'm overwhelmed with emails/calls, which keeps me from posting new costumes! It may be hard to believe, but many, many questions are answered by taking a little time to do this -- even if you think you understand my measurements and/or know yours. Even if you are totally confused (or only know your size in a non-US format - page gives help converting). If you still have questions after that, I'll be delighted to answer them (please email vs. phone if you can -- love to talk to customers, but much easier for me to answer emails quickly) . Thank you VERY much, I greatly appreciate it! - K
Bra
PLEASE read:
- Brief Explanation of notations used below.
- Underbust measurements are NOT a good way to judge bra fit, please read this (short).
Should fit range including: a little wide 34 C/D, 36 B/C. Max underbust = 35"
Skirt Top: Smallest body will reasonably fit approximately = 33," largest body will reasonably fit approximately = 38." Has no elastic. Will need elastic added at least for smaller bodies, 33"-35" (estimating). Even if skirt fits with it's own stretch, it's advisable to add elastic as the fabric will not hold its memory forever. See easy tip here.
Skirt Hips at widest: Smallest body will reasonably fit approximately = 35," largest body will reasonably fit approximately = 41."
Skirt length: 37 ".
