SOLD Made in Egypt. This is a gorgeous, extremely high quality costume - not your average bra/belt/skirt set. Everything is finished with the utmost care and detail, inside and out. Bra and belt fit beautifully. This costume will truly last a lifetime
Not a wimpy lavendar (and not weird!). The skirt and veil are a high quality poly chiffon. All edges are serged (finished - no unraveling). The skirt is a true full circle, however, it tapers toward the top so that it is not as bunchy and bulky as a normal traditional circle skirt. Two seams, one is open up to about 5" from the top as a slit. Hem has light nylon monofilament for body - not too crazy-big-flouncy, and it is very well made; no loops of monofilament sticking out anywhere. The chiffon is opaque enough, there is enough fabric volume and obfuscation from the fringe that I would personally feel fine performing in this without a second underskirt (flesh colored undergarments, please!!!), but I know I am a little more daring than some.The veil is not trimmed, which can be a plus if you don't want bead edging catching on everything, and it moves more floating-ly. Edges are completely finished (serged).
I personally love the beadwork on the bra, belt, and arm bands. The design is clean and simple, which is definitely the "look" of today, without being obnoxiously minimalistic (plain, in other words ;P). Main background completely covering everything is made up of beautifully sewn solid (as opposed to clear) iridescent lavendar sequins. The top of the belt is beautifully shaped to follow the scrolling beadwork, and I LOVE the way it is finished - wide vertical satin stitch, just thread - but this holds up EXTREMELY well and is the best way, in my opionion, that I have seen shaped edges work. Two scrolls on the bra straps are the same and add perfect amount of pattern repetition to pull bra and belt together.
Beading design uses primarily glass seed beads, slightly larger than the smallest seed beads more seen, and glass square cut bugles (Egyptian bugles), in lavendars, pinks, purples, silver, gold. Sequin fills in holographic silver, golds, fuschia, purple, some flat and some faceted; and clear iridescent pinks, solid lavendars. All edges of bra and belt (except shaped top edge of belt) have a bead trim I love which is done in exquisite detail: an up and down alternating pattern of large glass beads, one row is barely more pink and the other barely more purple.
Lovely fringe is continuous but not overpowering. 2/3's of strands are glass iridescent lavendar square cut bugle beads (Egyptian bugle beads); lower third is pink, with same pink glass beads from bra/belt edge trim separating the colors and tipping the strands. Egyptian fringe (each strand individually knotted into a cord which is sewn into costume; can easily be accessed by picking a few stitches out of belt/bra lining; cord can be cut without remaining strands coming loose).

Like most of the costumes on this site, this was a one-of-a-kind piece hand crafted by an Egyptian artisan. THIS COSTUME is GONE. IT CAN NOT BE ORDERED.. Will there be more? Depending on the artisan, general designs may or may not be repeated, but never exactly. It's impossible to say if or when these will show up or in what size or color. COMING SOON (but not now, please don't ask!), certain SPECIFIC (not all) costumes WILL be custom-orderable indivdually. When that is possible, there will be PLENTY of notices here on the web site, you won't miss it. I'm not sure exactly when this will be put into operation. Please WAIT for notices on the site saying it is possible before asking ANYTHING about 'custom ordering' (I just don't have any info on it now), until then NO COSTUME, INCLUDING THIS ONE, CAN BE ORDERED - IT IS NOT ORDERABLE AT THIS TIME
If large version photos don't seem very large, especially the detail, which should be pretty gigantic, you may need to do this (applies to Internet Explorer (IE) only): Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the IE window. Click "Internet Options". Click the "Advanced" tab. You'll see a "Settings" list of items you can check or uncheck. Scroll down until you see the heading "Multimedia." There should be a checkbox setting something along the lines of "enable automatic image resizing." You DON'T want automatic image resizing, so uncheck the box if it's checked. CLick the "OK" button. "Automatic image resizing" takes images IE considers too big and makes them smaller, so you never are sure if you are seeing an image at the size the website author intended. Turning off "automatic image resizing" simply means you will see all images at their "real" sizes, it will not affect anything else.
