ALL u0054 COSTUMES SOLD Made in Egypt. My troupe LOVED these, some of the nicest saidi pants costumes we've seen. Terrific large chiffon sleeve drapes, absolutely beautiful color in a rich stretch velvet, very large trimmed head scarf and head band. All the flowing chiffon adds femininity - even the sleeves alone. These are really versatile. We performed a funky cane number in them, complete wth head scarves (pix below), and a completely different piece, a baladi akkordeon/drum (without the head scarves).
The tops are full coverage, with integrated standard costume bra (though there are no inside bra shoulder straps, so the inner bra is like a 'strapless' bra). Zipper up the back. Pants are pull on, elastic all the way around the top, fully enclosed with standard fabric casing. The velvet (well, strictly speaking it is velveteen, which ALL "stretch velvet" is, since it has to have some sort of lycra-type component to make it stretchy) though not quite as stretchy as lycra, does have pleeeeeennnnty of give and is very comfortable. Cut to fit relatively snug over hips and thighs, flaring generously below knee. All of these costumes are very, very close to each other in size. If you take a look at the performance photos you can see that they worked on some very differently sized and proportioned bodies!
More than generously beaded, bra cups and hips are completely covered in silver and blue sequins and variety of glass beads, plus silver, pearl, and blue acrylics. Scattered design over entire pants legs, with larger and more elaborate work where the lower legs flare. One thing I really liked: they have coins (on fringe accents of large glass silver seed beads, groups of two, about 2.5" long, with lightweight silver coins on the ends;generously distributed on bra and throughout hip beadwork) -- but they aren't crazily coin-ey! Enough to add a nice folkloric touch. But frankly the costume works just as well for cabaret numbers because the coins don't (metaphorically) hit you in the face - as I said above, we used these for both a folky cane number, and a very much cabaret akkordeon/drum (a traditional musical arrangement but choreography decidedly showboat oriental, not folky). And considering the cost, a good number of nice sized real glass crystal stones: 7/16" rounds, a couple on the bra and half a dozen in the hip beadwork.
Accessories: Large Rectangular Head Scarf (approximately 55" x 25", edged with looping seed beads & paillettes) and Beaded Headband, velvet with chiffon ties.
Age/Condition: Lightly used, all for single-song performances in shows (as opposed to lengthy sets in restaurants) (one costume performed in three times, one costume performed in twice, one costume performed in once). Excellent condition; see specific notes for each piece below, with sizing.
Photos are of actual items for sale unless noted. Due to variations introduced by the camera, the lighting, and your computer monitor, colors in real life may not appear exactly as on your screen.

Sizing: All three costumes are VERY similar in size. DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL ME WITH SIZE QUESTIONS OF ANY KIND UNTIL YOU HAVE 1) READ THE LINKED PAGE ABOVE (How to Buy A Costume that Fits), 2) READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION OF THIS COSTUME INCLUDING NOTES GIVEN WITH THE SIZES, 3) TAKEN YOUR MEASUREMENTS NOW AND CAREFULLY COMPARED THEM TO MEASUREMENTS GIVEN FOR COSTUME IN QUESTION. Please! I'm overwhelmed with emails/calls, which keeps me from posting new costumes! It may be hard to believe, but many, many questions are answered by taking a little time to do this -- even if you think you understand my measurements and/or know yours. Even if you are totally confused (or only know your size in a non-US format - page gives help converting). If you still have questions after that, I'll be delighted to answer them (please email vs. phone if you can -- love to talk to customers, but much easier for me to answer emails quickly) . Thank you VERY much, I greatly appreciate it! - K
Bras
- Brief Explanation of notations used below. - Underbust measurements are NOT a good way to judge bra fit, please read this (short). All are in excellent condition, all pretty much the same. No spots or stains, maybe a loose bead here or there but not much more than on a new costume. Pretty normal small amounts of fraying, very little, on edges of chiffon sleeve drapes. Anything else noted with individual bra.
Pants Elastic all the way around the tops, fully enclosed with standard fabric casing. Can be loosened by opening a seam (or for lazy, um, busy people, just cutting into the casing on the inside), cutting elastic and inserting additional; obviously tightening can be done by cutting and removing length of elastic and sewing ends back together)
